Zürcher Theater Spektakel

28/08 - 03/09/2023

An institution on the move: a hybrid temporary space that invites us to think, imagine and listen, but also to react and deconstruct. This is precisely what the Indian artist and curator Pankaj Tiwari has in mind with his project «TENT: A School of Performative Practices».

Invited by Gessnerallee Zurich, Tiwari will set up his «TENT» on the grounds of the Zürcher Theater Spektakel for ten days. «TENT» is interactive and invites visitors to meet. Together, they listen, learn and cook, as not only ideas and artistic research are shared, but also food and drink.

"I want to create a structure that is real, inclusive and diverse"  is how Pankaj Tiwari describes his goal for TENT, to create a decentralised and open platform. Tiwari has invited the five artists Chetna Mehrotra, Francesco Corsi, Prabhash Chandra, Giulia Savorani and Sankrit Kulmanochawong from India, Thailand and Italy. They will give an insight into their work, thoughts and ideas and share their practice with interested visitors. TENT invites you to think together about new institutions and ways of working – what does it take for intercultural exchange to take place on equal terms?
